Sandy Pickett

Growing up, Sandy learned that life had many interesting bits and pieces, all of which would make her the musician that she would soon become. Sandy began playing drums and bass guitar in high school. She began exploring acoustic guitar, harmonica, and multiple other instruments while building her ability to write, play, and sing. All of this learning was taking place at a time in her life when she was discovering who she was and what she wanted to do in life.

Looking back on her journey, Sandy can proudly say that she has been playing live continuously for over 25 years. Her unique ability to play several instruments at once makes her shows exciting and fun. By enhancing rhythms and percussion with a djembe conga drum, blowing harmonica, playing guitar, kicking a stomp box, and singing, Sandy will blow you away with her production of original works, as well as cover tunes.

Sandy has played in groups with Tim Norris, Franny Hall, Rhythm & Groove, Hippie Fingers, Random Roots and Big Booty Joody. She has written and produced three original albums.

  1. WESTGATE was written and produced in 2001 at Guy Meredith Studios, in Winchester, England.
  2. No One’s Made Me Blue was produced in 2003 at Farm Fresh Studios in Bloomington, Indiana.
  3. Guitar Rider was produced in 2007 at Group Effort Studio in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Sandy is a 2017 inductee to the Southeastern Indiana Musicians Hall of Fame. She has played and hosted singer-songwriter sessions. She has been on Knox News Live, Whiskey Bros Home Grown Rock Show and TV3 Connersville.

Currently, Sandy is the “Mom” and the driving force of SHIFT and their new group, Big Booty Joody. She shares her wealth of talent and experience with her “girls”, Amy and Jill. Sandy protects them from forces of evil and corrects them when necessary. Sandy is the guiding light, voice of reason, and inspiration for this amazing project.
